Certificate of Liability Insurance (COI). Ever heard of it? Well if you are a Precinct President (or other leader) and working to schedule your Precinct ReOrg MEETING LOCATION, you may have been asked for one. Typically if you are using a local public school (or a church) as your ReOrg meeting location, you might be asked for a COI. It is standard, so don’t worry.
COI Defined: A certificate of liability insurance (COI), is a simple form issued by your insurance company. It includes the types of coverage, the issuing insurance company, your policy number, the named insured, the policy’s effective dates, and the types and dollar amount of limits and deductibles.
Where do you generally get a COI?: A certificate of liability insurance (COI), is a simple form issued by your insurance company. It includes the types of coverage, the issuing insurance company, your policy number, the named insured, the policy’s effective dates, and the types and dollar amount of limits and deductibles.
Where do I get a COI for ReOrg Location?:
Two options. First off, we are told the SCGOP liability coverage includes all ReOrg locations in South Carolina. That would be logical, although counties that are America First affiliated seem to not be getting a “returned phone call”. #LearnTheirTricks!!!
Main SCGOP #: 803-988-8440
Drew McKissick: 803-463-2475, 803-376-4794, drew@scgop.com, drew@scgop.com
Hope Walker: 803-463-0541 hope@scgop.com
Mark Bonnoitt: 843-615-2860 mark@scgop.com
2nd Option: It is possible, that your local GOP has a lability policy and can provide you with a COI.
NOTE: Listing the location on your COI: Don’t be alarmed if the location provider also requests that they be added to the COI. This is a common request, and complying generally does not give them any legal rights under a certificate, because the certificate simply establishes that an insurance policy exists.
