2024 AVAILABLE OFFICES?:
In 2024, all 124 SC House of Representative seats, all 46 SC State Senate seats … all 7 Congressional seats … generally half of your county council seats & half of your school board seats … and a host of other elected positions will be available. (HERE)
The opportunity for REAL CHANGE is huge .. but you must act NOW!!!
The SC Presidential Preference Primaries in February for both the Republicans (Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024) and Democrats (Saturday, Feb. 2, 2024) will mean a lot of “excitement” in the air … but the real focus for those of us here in South Carolina is the JUNE 11, 2024, partisan primaries.
As we reported yesterday … the Next Step for “real” grassroots SC Patriots is to RUN FOR OFFICE!!! (HERE). If not you, WHO? If not now, WHEN? #RunForOffice!!!
Once you decide to become a candidate and run for office, you must file:
(1) A Statement of Economic Interest (SEI).
(2) Campaign Financial Disclosures. (Initial, quarterly, & pre-election.)
It sounds scary, and you do have to do it right, but it really is not that difficult. Remember, this is the new NFL / fantasy baseball … LEARN IT!!!
Statement of Economic Interest:
The general idea is as stated, to disclose the candidate or elected officials “economic” or financial interest. Sure there are some basic issues of disclosure that this report may bring to light … or more likely the SEI disclosure will PREVENT certain activities by once elected officials that would present blatant conflicts of interest … but by and large our experience (as with the entire SC Ethics Laws) is the SEI is devoid of any relevant data that would protect public interest. Maybe SC Ethics Reform should be on the list of 2024 legislative initiatives? (HERE)
But … as a new candidate … you have to file a SEI … and this will likely be your first compliance filing.
We won’t restate it all here, but see the SC State Election Commission webpage for SEI.
Don’t let the SEI scare you off from running for office. #WeNeedYOU!!!

SEI Search:
Go ahead … search online for your favorite politician’s “Statement of Economic Interest”. Most SEIs we find are devoid of any relevant information … but if you find anything interesting, send it to us at team@mySCGOP.com.
