As we teach, “Watch what they DO, not what they SAY”.
Well, sadly we have another example as we are watching South Carolina ‘conservative” legislators in full panic mode as they backtrack and DIVERT ATTENTION away from their active and personal assistance of the American Library Association (ALA) … just 2 months ago with the passage of H 4023.
We introduced you all to this very troubling development back on June 20th (SC First Steps … Fiscal “Accountability” … and Freedom?) … but now more and more people are asking “what is going on?!?!?”
You are going to be hearing a lot more about this in the coming weeks … but we wanted to introduce the background information just so you know where all this started … and why it is a problem for our “conservative” legislators right here in South Carolina.
The April 13, 2022 Tweet:
Today we all generally know about the issues and concerns with our public libraries as it relates to indoctrination of children … but the awakening started for many of us with the above April 13, 2022, “tweet” from the then newly elected ALA President, Emily Drabinski (HERE & HERE).
She proudly announced herself as a “Marxist lesbian” … so that was obviously eye opening for a lot of people.
And yes, she was “elected” to that position as a known “Marxist” by librarians from all over America!
The Federalist did a full article on the matter back on April 22nd, 2022. Read more by clicking HERE or below.

August 19, 2022 Tweet:
What is interesting is that the ALA does not appear to have backed down much … Ms. Drabinski certainly has not.
See this tweet from just two days ago … Emily Drabinski actively soliciting donations for abortions right here in South Carolina … for the Palmetto State Abortion Fund.
Who knew some “fund” like this even existed … much less that the controversial ALA “Marxist” President would be promoting a South Carolina abortion fund?!?!
But then again, South Carolina is an Abortion Destination State … so we have our legislators to thank for that too. Maybe this all should not be a surprise.
H 4023 – First Steps Bill:
But where all of this is going to come to a head is the fact that just a few months ago, “conservative” legislators fast-tracked putting PUBLIC LIBRARY EMPLOYEES on the First Steps board all across South Carolina.
What is First Steps? It is pre-k reading programs.
So even though the public libraries were a known problem … our “conservative” legislators are now REQUIRING BY LAW that these same public library employees that elected Emily Drabinski to be President of the ALA, should also be overseeing South Carolina pre-k reading programs.
First Steps is a darling program of the “left” here in South Carolina … we have been watching it for years … but it is heating up again as the same legislators that passed H 4023 are now all up in arms about pulling out of the ALA.
Well, welcome to the party friends … glad you are joining us on this issue … even if a little late!
